They are quality guns and suitable for carry. The DA pull on these guns tend to be heavier than other Sigs. You can lighten the pull by changing out the hammer spring.

I'd stay away from MGS's P6's. From what I've seen they've overgraded their guns. AIM Surplus has them for $259 and Centerfire Sytems has them for $269. These pieces have some holster wear but are in excellent mechanical shape. If you want an almost new piece I'd recommend getting a Grade 1 from Dan's Ammo for $369

What grades are the cheaper ones, I don't see it listed on the first two sites. My friend bought one of these German police guns and it cost him 500 but the guy said it was Grade 1.

If I was going to spend 369.00 for a used one I am thinking about just spending a little extra and getting a Springfield 1911 GI Lightweight. What do you think?

Unless your friend bought a P225 (not P6 marked) then he got hosed. Dan's Ammo has Grade I and Grade II. The Grade 1's show hardly any wear and pristine. The Grade II's show some wear but are mechanically sound. If you don't care about the cosmetics, I'd suggest you save some money and get P6 from AIM.

the p225 listed at centerfire system is advertised with 2 magazines and a holster. does the ones from AIM include these accessories?

edit: nevermind, read it DOES include those things :uh:

have any of you actually purchased a p225 from AIM? i was doing a bit more research and found out that the frame has to be marked P225 and not P6 otherwise it isn't on the CA approved handgun list

if anyone has bought from them, could you check? i'm going to call them tomorrow but this might give me a heads up :o :x:

Odd as this is, I bought 2 from Aim yesterday. They will only start shipping them the 2nd week of Feb. The good news is I saved a bunch of money by switching from Geico.

And I cant think of any gun for the price that would even come close.

Yeah I made the mistake of ordering my P6 from MGS. For the money I paid I should have gotten a Grade 1 at Dan's Ammo.

aimsurplus has them for $259 and i'm really thinkin about one for carry. it makes me nervous carrying around my 1,200 dollar 229R daily. i'd rather keep that one outta trouble.

are the msg ones marked P225 or P6?

Sounds like most people in california aren't having any issues with getting the P6's to register :dunno:

That's a huge swing in variance. Are you just looking for an affordable CCW? What req's do you have exactly? Hard to determine if it would be a better choice without understanding the determining factors behind it.

Do these 225s have any unsightly importer marks etched into the frame? I am sure there are importer marks, but are they tasteful looking, or all sloppy with big text?

Edit: Any idea who sells new grips for the P225/P6? I am considering buying a P6 and I want to return it to its original factory look and condition.
