Do you have the driver for your monitor installed? (Not the default Windows one) That should help in auto-sensing the resolution and adjusting the screen for you.

Can you not adjust the horizontal and vertical position and size using the controls on the monitor? Or are we talking about a completely different thing here?? :dunno:

Once the driver is extracted, go to device manager, right click on monitor, go to properties, and update driver. Point it to the directory where you saved the driver to.

ive tried adjusting all of that, i think something might be wrong with my monitor. i tried taking a screenshot but it doesnt show up on there. the right side is fine, its the left side that is messed up. its not even a straight black line up and down. whenever i scroll on a website the left black bar gets all distorted and unstraight. sorry if im not explaining this very well i just dont know what is wrong with it

In that case it is probably the monitor. I just replaced a monitor that was on the fritz and it would randomly shift images, grow, shrink, buzz at me, etc. Try a different monitor and see if you have the same results - I doubt that you will.
