I know this is an older thread, but I had a question about this...

I just got a Saiga .308 with the draganov, thumbhole stock, and was wondering if I could throw that on an S-12 if I were to get one. I don't know if it classifies as a pistol grip or not. The law states "ii) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon", but I don't know if that would classify.

    it looks like this

For those in the area, Hoffmans I know can get them, but I don't think they keep them in stock on a regular basis.

If I recall, in most other states with an AWB, thumbhole stocks are seen as being equivalent to a pistol grip.

wow. I guess I left the picture out of my last post, but I think you guys understood what I was talking about.

I looked on Saiga-12 forums and it seems that the SLFU sees the factory thumbhole stocks as non-pistol grip.

I guess it's not really worth the risk. I may still pick one up though. Need to see how much Fed Tax return I have left.

They've had plenty of 19 inchers at my local shop for $549. They are cool but I can't get myself to buy something I'd rarely, if ever, shoot.

As much as I love those things, I can't convince myself to pay $500+ for what was a $250 (or was it $350?) shotgun a year or two ago.
