I like to DL movies and put them on standard CD-r's, but some of the movies I've found are over 700mb in size. So, does anyone know how I can edit some of the movie out or shrink the movie to a different resolution so it takes up less space?

Some of these movies I only need to take a few MB off, but some I need to take 50+ off.

    Any ideas?

I've tried to use DVD shrink, but the only thing I could figure out was to copy an entire DVD to my HD, and I didn't even compress it. Can you shed some light on how I can mod an existing file?

Try virtual dub, cut out the credits, or recompress them

I take it these are VCDs (MPEG1 format)
In which case use TMPGEnc. Go to dvdrhelp.com and look for a guide to make a XVCD.
Basicly it's about resetting the bitrate. Still looks just as good to me as long as you don't go too far, like trying to take a 1gb files to sub-700mb
