    No .700 Nitro no care.

My first hunting rifle was a 6.5x55 swede. I loved that gun. Too bad my dad sold it. I didn't know they still actively chambered guns in that caliber. Wonder what prices are like these days. I remember it always being almost double in price than the standard calibers.

The barrels on the Tikkas are Sako but they use a different action.
    They work for me ;)

:ugh: That is the purpose of slugs

Rifles are banned because ODNR feels the state has too many populated areas

The price for 6.5x55 is the same for calibers like .30-06 and .270 because they use the same action.

How much were your scopes? I might end up with a Bushnell Elite 4200 2.5-10x40mm. Too bad they dont make a 2-7 or 3-9 in that series. What is the preferred magnification for normal hunting ranges?

Normal is very subjective. Are you hunting in brush or over an open field?

You need to know that first. also you need to know how far it'll be.

where i hunt, it's pretty heavy brush & woods so i would never even have the option to take my scope off of 3x.

big bore is generally .375 and up :o

I have a 2.5-10 4200, I bought it new 3 or so years ago for I think $325 from SWFA but last time I looked that'd gone up a bit. It's a great scope for the money and 10x at the top end is all you should need.
