alright, so ive reviewed scott's list of products.

so, wash the car a couple of times,
then wax, then polish? is that the correct step?

when will i need to buff or use a swirl remover? ive waxed my car once, and i really just followed the directions on the box.

can i get some tips on how i go about polishing and waxing?

You want to put the polish on before the wax.

    Addifan is right-polish before waxing.

Whether or not you need a swirl remover or have to buff is impossible for me to say for sure without seeing the car and knowing the way you care for it.

A general guideline is to wash every week, wax every 3 months and use a light glaze or swirl remover prior to waxing every 6 months.

Product directions will depend on what you are using. Most wax/polish manufacturers have websites that you can visit and get any and all information you need about a specific product.
