About 2 months ago i dislocated my shoulder.. and still to this day sometimes when i bench i feel as if my shoulder is going to crack when benching.. however, not all the time.. i notice it pops when doing some shoulder exercises as well..

do i need to stop benching? is there alternate exercises i can be doing that is not hard on my shoulder? what can i do to gain muscle on my shoulder so this wont happen frequently?

sports doc said i should go to physical therapy, but i don't have the time with work and school =/..
I was hoping it'd heal over time on it's own.

go for a session or two to see the exercises they do and then do them on your own time?

It won't. I injured my shoulder when I was 16 (so about 3 years ago) and never went through with PT and to this day it still randomly hurts, pops, randomly pops or if i move it the wrong way I get the worst pains until I find someone to massage it out for me. Your best bet is to find time for PT...honestly a few hours a week to make something heal properly is worth it--otherwise you're going to have problems for a long time.

Also, in PT they start off with certain exercises to gauge where you're at and then they change the exercises in order to build up strength, range of motion, etc. so going for a few sessions and then doing it on your own may not be too beneficial either, because while you may be able to do certain things you may not get back to where you were originally.

Focus on the big picture, not just the "right now". Good luck either way.
