when i do squats, sometimes my right shoulder bothers me during or after the workout. my hands are on the bar just lil outside of the part of the bar that hovers over my shoulders. my questions are: is my hand position really wrong and does anyone else experiencing anything similar?

Hold the bar with your hands wide... find a distance you find comfortable, although most people just grab as far as they can.

my right shoulder hurts doing that stuff too

i warm up my Rotator cuff thingo and seems to make it less noticable...

simple shit like standing back against a wall, have your bicep/forearm make a right angle, hands pointing to the room, then rotate down to slap the wall with your palm, then back to hit wall with back of fingers, repeat slowly

i do that then usual R.C exercises and seems to make things less painful

actually ive been pretty good at doing RC exercises and they help out alot i feel. i think the problem lies in my grip being so close. i guess im the victim of taking some article on the net which said to have as close a grip as possible on squats as doctrine. that just goes to show that researching more never hurts and can prevent u from hurting haha! thx for all replies

maybe the bar is rolling down your back, and its straining your shoulders trying to hold the bar up...I grip the bar with my hands just outside of the outer rings.
