The IWB is a little cumbersome to slip on between classes because I don't normally wear my stiff belt to class. Can anyone recommend a good manufacturer or custom shoulder harness rig?

Please post if you have tried a shoulder rig and whether you like it or dislike it.

Question: Do you leave your jacket on throughout class? What happens when you're sweating balls and need to take your jacket off?

Just curious. I've considered a shoulder harness, but never for indoors

I vote pocket carry over a shoulder rig.

I wouldn't wear it during class/on campus. I just want something I can slip on for quick errands between classes.

1911 or Sig P250 is not really pocket carry friendly, even though I did pocket carry my P250 on the inside of my jacket pocket. However it would have been impossible to draw and was not secure enough for my liking.

Galco Miami or Jackass (I like the Jackass for heavier guns, has wider straps to distribute the load better)
    Gould and Goodrich

If you know of a good custom holster maker check with them if they make shoulder rigs too. Fit is important if you want an all day rig.
I wear a Miami currently and the next one I get will probably be from a local holster maker that will custom make it to my specifications.

I think a fullsize 1911 (especially with a big beaver tail) or p250 is going to be pushing it for horizontal carry unless you're a pretty thick guy and like poofy coats. My fullsize P99 is about as long a slide as I feel I can comfortable conceal in the jackets I wear. I'm a big guy and don't wear much heavier than a sport coat most of the time so take it for what its worth. Doing it again, I'd prefer a subcompact gun.

depends on how big you are too. I have a big chest so I can carry a full sized 1911 or my XD45 Tac horizontally.
Thinner, punier people would probably want vertical though for a 5" gun.

Carry would probably be 4.25 Dan Wesson or STI 1911

no really makes holster for my detonics or p250
