Just picked up an Onkyo HT-S7100 which comes with the TX-SR606 receiver.

It came with all the wiring however all wiring is like 22GA.

Is there any reason for me to upgrade my wiring to run thicker gauge such as 18 or 16?

All my speakers will be no more than 20ft away from receiver with total wire length likely not exceeding 30ft.

16 gauge wire should be standard for everything now a days. But some of the HTIB speakers are pretty poor. Not really sure about the onkyo speakers....

Keep your receipt for the 606. You will need it when the HDMI card decides to fail. Good News is Onkyo has great customer service. They will tell you where to take it to get it replaced.

i ran bigger cables for mine, and a buddy ran the stock ones

granted i upgraded my front stage, all the other speakers sound the same. they're not power hungry.

what cable does the sub have? i ended up getting a digital i can't remember :hs:
