There is a retail store for each of the major carriers near my house, and nearly all of them are hiring. Any reccomendations on a particular company. I have an above average knowledge of phones already.

i work for Cingular. I really like it. Decent pay (comission could be better) but the benefits are good. Been there for almost 2yrs now

ditto for me. i'd like some input. i'm torn between going with another full-time job or trying to get a sales position part-time so i can trade stocks in the mornings and do freelance design work on days when i'm not working.

also, what are opinons on working for corporate run stores as opposed to individual franchises such as individually owned cingular store franchises?

just make sure its a corporate store and not a dealer. its better b/c of benefits, products and the knowledge you gain from the company

Stick to a corp owned store for the benefits. Agents exclusive for Cingular will no longer be needed with all the blue acquisitions. Most likely will be the same with Sprint/Nextel.

I work for Sprint just as a sales rep in the store, I should clear about 50k without even trying. Very good company to work for.

Nope not bs...had a friend who worked for T-Mobile before getting shipped to Iraq. They do have a quota but they also have a 3 month grace period and then after that, it is when things kick in.

I worked a reseller and a company owned store. They have their own pros and cons. The company owned store DO have quotas but they do a grace period before they fire you but they have better benefits and stock option buy plans. The resellers are independents and tend to be easier going but they don't generally pay as well.

I know they're paid well but fuck if they don't teach them everything or keep them up to date on policy.

but is it a quota that they cant reach? if the store does 100 numbers a month with 4 employees, do they set their quota at 50 each person or something like that, that they'd never be able to reach?

I work for T-Mobile and my qouta is 45-50 a month....not a problem for, I'm usually 150% or better to qouta.....and with T-Mobile you have to not hit your qouta for 3 straight months before you are fired, unless your boss hates u lol

The store quota is split by the entire sales staff....regardless of what it is. Just depends on the manager of the location...they decide if your history.

They can't fire you for assigning a quota that is impossible to reach. Meaning, all your peers can't reach it either.

  23. Go Verizon. I have worked from Sprint and ATT.

I started at verizon this year, and between Aug 1st and December 1st i made 27,000 dollars. My training was paid for two weeks, we were flown to portland and stayed in a hilton sweet, everything was put on a corporate card. My benefits have a ten dollar deductable that i pay $36 a month for. Also, you get 4 dealer cell lines, 26 paid days off of different kinds in the first year.
I thought it was bs when i heard about the pay and bene's....
but now there is a Mercedes Benz in my garage :big grin:

no joke my friend, make the move

First prize is a Caddy. Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired?

  25. 50? Shit my quota is 200!! Always do close to three hundred, thats when they double our commision then ad percentages over that when you pass quota.
