My current line up: -Nikon D50 -Fuji S3 Pro -Nikkor 18-200mm VR -Nikkor 105mm VR macro -Nikkor 35mm f/2 -Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 -Sigma 10-20mm -Nikon SB-80DX flash -Nikon SB-400 flash Heavily considering: -Canon 30D -Canon 10-22mm -Canon 17-40L -Canon 70-200L IS -Canon 300L IS Reasons for staying with Nikon: 1. Ergonomics 2. I prefer the Nikon color palate for landscapes 3. I LOVE Fuji color/skin tone for portraits (Nikon or Canon can't touch it ) 4. Stick with what I already have 5. CCD sensor sensitive to Infrared photography Reasons for going to Canon: 1. L-series lenses 2. Better features on lenses and CHEAPER to Nikon counterparts 3. Cool factor for white lenses 4. Just want something new Part of my frustration is that Nikon have lenses geared toward either beginners (f/3.5-5.6) or professionals (constant f/2.8). Canon seems to be more willing to address the market for advanced amateurs with their f/4 lens offerings at very tempting and certainly more attainable prices. Photography is a hobby (with occasional weddings where I insist only in being the backup photographer). I don't NEED big, bulky f/2.8's and sure as hell won't pay for them. But Nikon's quality is reserved only for those lenses. Suggestions?
