I want too really bad. Anyone else done the same?
took my 30d back to Costco and picked up the 40d
what are the differences?
40D has a 3" screen vs 30D's 2.5"?
40D has live view?
does the 40D give a measurement for DOF like the XTi does?
and turn off the LCD when you bring the camera up to your face like the XTi does?
those small things do add up.. but are there any real improvements?
Good comparison chart about half way down
i replaced my 30d with a 40d. focus is much faster. AI servo is much better, Wanna buy my backup 40d with grip for 1100? has about 2k actuations on it. I have a line on a mint mkiin i want.
I never buy brand new camera bodies because A. - the cost too much and B. - they could always have problems. With my work, I can't afford to have that happen. I usually buy used - I know, I know, but I do. I lose less money that way. I'm not yet an "official" business, so I can't write stuff off yet.
I have a 24-70 f/2.8 L and will probably soon be buying a 70-200 f/2.8 IS L. When u take into account that I can sell the 30d for around $600 and buy the 40d for around $800 used, the $200 upgrade sounds like a pretty decent deal IMO.
Shutters are actually a lot more reliable than people think. I know Killboy (www.killboy.com) personally has probably over 400,000 shots on his 40d.
if you have extended warranty, I suggest it "accidently" fall out of a window.
Digic III and the improved AF is worth the money to upgrade from the 30D.
its gonan be hardpressed to find a used one for 800-850 now that teh canon rebate is over...
hmmm... they sell them new for $940 on amazon.
dang i wonder when teh price will be goign back up. i wonde rif they even know that teh rebate is over.
I sold my 30D on ebay for 640 and bought my 40D from beach camera or bhphoto for 920 so for 300ish it was worth the upgrade.
