I sold my Canon XT with a 75-300mm, 50mm f1.8, and kit lens, battery grip, and three batteries in March, and bought a Sony Alpha, and I recently got the Canon back. I don't really know what to do with both cameras, I would use one as a "back up" style, but they don't use the same mounts. Should I sell the alpha because I only have the kit lens and a 17-35mm lens for it? (not to mention I barely used the Sony in comparison to the Canon.) Thanks OT.

It's good, i am quite partial to my old Canon though, I haven't really took it out too much to try, I just recently got an acceptable lens for it, loaded with features but I am wondering if a lot of it is just novelty...

 So after selling the Canon and buying the Sony... you got the Canon back? Did the person you sold the Canon to not like it? You sure made a drastic move to play around with the Sony.

Maybe you should rent the equipment before selling all your gear and making a drastic life change.

I repo'd it from him, non payment style. I bought the alpha back when they were expensive from a military base, and I got a semi good deal. I don't know i love the Canon more, esp. because I have taken it around the world with me. The Sony is definitely fancier and have great aspects... I just don't know if it's worth selling or just keep two and how to configure the two for optimal use (e.g. one studio style cam, other outdoor)

I gave him $150 for the camera, as well as an agreement to paint his integra while he was out of town. He WOULD NOT stop bothering me about the camera and kept saying stuff like "oh it's been 4 months and you haven't paid me". Well no shit, I was waiting to paint the car.

Anyhow, he did not "repo" the camera from me, I just gave it back and got the money I gave him since 1. He was being weird about it all the time, and 2. I'm gonna save up for a certain car and I'll just get a D50 or something cheap after I get the car.

This is what actually happened, so now I'll be shooting with an A520 for a while. :mamoru:
