Should I rewash my Nudies before getting them patched?

I tore them from the back pocket to the seam on the side of the leg in a big L. I'm relatiely confident that they can be patched and sewn but I'm worried if I wash them once tht happens the seam will twist so I was thinking about giving them their 2nd wash before I have them patched. Thoughts?

have them patched = someone doing it for you?

most tailors/shops will make you wash them first, if they don't wash them on their own

if you're taking it to a tailor or something, you might want to dry clean them and tell them to not wash them. this is just a imho, i've never had to go through the process

I washed them, the tear did fray but it's okay. I'm kinda disappointed after 11 months with the Even Stevens of nearly daily wear. I would have had to wear them looser for them to have better breakin.
