i found one for sale locally on craigslist for a pretty good price. i was thinking about saving my money to pick up a 70-200 2.8, but thats a lot more expensive and this i can pick up now. i suppose this is cheap enough that i could pick it up now and then re-sell it for what i paid for it when the time comes to pick up a 70-200. those of you who have this lens, how does it do for portraits? i really wanted something longer than my 28-75, but this isn't that much longer but it does open to a wider aperture.

it's a great lens.... good focal length for portraits... crop or full frame. It's also got lightning fast AF, and focuses great in low light. I'm definitely going to pick one up for an MMA shoot I've got coming up in August.
