A&P Should I keep the D80, or sell it and get a used D200?

Ya, the D200 sucks at high ISO. But I don't plan on using it for anything more than a backup, which what the D80 is anyway. I guess the only big advantage would be having 2 cameras that take CF cards rather than the D80 w/ a SD card. :dunno:

How much can you sell the D80 for, and how much is a D200 body?

I wouldn't bother if it was going to cost me any money.

What performs better at ISO 1600, the D80 or D200?

from everything I've read, the D80 and D200 have the same sensor... just different bodies. and the controls are closer to the D300. :dunno:

as far as price, used D200s on NikonCafe are going for $800ish w/ out anything else on them -- one guy is selling his w/ 2 batteries, grip, and a few other small things for $900. I'm sure used D80s aren't going for that, but since there isn't a replacement for the D80 yet, I'm sure the price isn't that much lower if there was. :o

D200 sucks at 1600, D80 isn't all that better either.

So you'd be paying 200-300 bucks for the upgrade maybe. For more familiar controls to the D300. I don't really see the point, I'd rather spend 300 on something that I'd get more use out of like another flash :run:

Just my opinion, but I haven't touched my D50 in 4 months so I don't see the need for spending money on a backup.

Unless it's forbidden at the event you should always be shooting with flash at a wedding.

I might just get another flash. Having two would be more beneficial anyway. Maybe a PW added for good measure... Until then, commander mode > *

To be honest there's not a lot of difference between the D80 and D200. The only advantage you'd get is being able to share the same memory type (CF), like your friend said.

Ya, that's wht I mentioned in my first post too. I was thinking if I could use just CF cards, then it might be worth it. But with the extra money to invest into it, I think it is wiser to spend that on something else like a flash or pocket wizard.

God knows I have a ton more stuff I'd like to still get!
