OK.. im thinking of buying an DSLR and making photography a hobby.

I have a P&S which i use, but it gets boring since there is only so much you can do with it, however i dont want to spend a lot of money on equipment and then realise I'd rather just use my P&S...

I'm going o/s and doing alot of travelling and want to take more than just "normal" photos.. but not sure if i might get sick of it and start using my P&S

So just wondering how/why did you guys get into photography etc?

Flame away .. any comments appreciated:)

  2. Get a Sony Alpha and then we'll consider letting you in the photo crew.... :big grin:

If you think you'll actually put it to use, go right ahead. I know when I got mine I didn't think twice about the price or anything because I was out with it everyday. It depends how serious you are as well as how serious you plan on getting with it. Don't get it if it's just gonna collect dust.

  8. didn't you mean lowlikewhoaf150 is worse than sony alpha... :ugh: :slap:

I know someone at Canon and can get a very good price.

I think i might go ahead and get a DSLR.

No, we're all a bunch of idiots. We all read about this stuff online constantly, never shoot, and talk about this stuff like we're professionals. We make reccomendations and back them up with real world experience we've never had, but have thought about having and intend to, but haven't because we're too busying talking about how smart we are on the internet.

No need to buy a camera, just troll photobucket or pbase and use those images in your portfolio.
