this isn't an ask OT if I need it, I know I need it so STFU you know it all cunts.

OK, some know, but I've dislocated both my shoulders countless times. Left 20+ times, right < 10 but the right hurts worse and has started to not heal properly. After I quick racing(skiing) I didn't dislocate either for a long long time and it was good. The doctor has already said both rotator cuffs need work. Well the right is getting shitty, I Dislocated it doing PullOvers the other day and it will NOT get better. So I guess I'm going to get this piece of shit fixed.

I'll get fat. I know I will. Pain pills + no gym = lots of beer and TV. Sounds like fun I know.

or I could just deal with it. which I've been doing but it's getting worse. Whos had rotator cuff surgery?

Personally, I’d do it. Though I’d man up and not use pain pills….I’d sell them instead :o

Sure you’ll gain some weight and lose some muscle, but the muscle will come back somewhat quick. With the strengthened rotator, putting the lean mass back on shouldn't be a snap

the reason I waited for so long is because the doctor says "it won't be 100% after surgery", as in not as good as new. So basically wait til I'm done doing stupid shit. I was a sponsored skier at the time so I waited. Now that my knee is fucked too, I guess I should do it.

when they fixed my knee, I had the options of them making an ACL out of one of my tendons or one out of a cadavor(sp?), I said "oh hellz yeah do the cadavor, find a black dude I wanna be able to dunk" he didn't like that much.

get another opinion. I had rotator problems a few years ago, and all the doctors jumped to say I needed surgery. Then I found a doctor that had me try a corticosteriod and do some therapy. 3 years after 6 months of work, I'm still 100%.

It doesn't sound like your anywhere near 100% now. I'd get it done.

I've had 2 already. One here in town and the doc who fixed my need. they both said sugery. Although the one who fixed my knee was supose to be the badass of NC, he did the surgerys for all the pro teams and shit, I had to get a major hook up to even get him. He fucked my knee.

well you're right, I'm not. BUT, when it dislocates now, it's not negating an expensive surgery. You know what I mean? It's not that my ins won't pay most of it, it's the fact that I have to take time off work and everythign.

I guess I'm wondering what the long term effects of constantly dislocating it would be.

it'll just keep getting worse and worse until you lose most of your shoulder function and have to get surgery.

All you're doing by putting it off is delaying the inevitable.

Good luck on a speedy recovery.

constantly dislocating/subluxing your shoulder stretches out the capsular support, and surgery is the only way to tighten it back up

Don't forget the younger you are the quicker you heal too. I'd rather go ahead and get it done while I was young than waiting until I was 40 or 50 and having it take me twice as long to get better.
