Kevin Smith is coming to the Barnes And Noble near me for a book signing.

Pros: I could get my Daredevil and Green Arrow books he wrote signed.

Cons: To get anything signed, I need to buy a copy of his new book which I have no interest in.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of his movies, but I greatly admire and love the guy based almost entirely on his "Evening With" series. He's hilarious and down to earth, doesn't give a fuck what people think, and has some valuable insight into the business. But that's all kind of a moot point, as I probably won't be able to talk to him since this is sure to be a crowded event.

Since it's near you, and if you have the time, I'd say go for it. It's at a B&N so the crowd will probably be more mellow, and you might still have a shot of at least talking with him for a few seconds. If he was signing at a convention, it'd probably be much more fast paced and not as fun. Just my two cents.

Nevermind, it's not until Thursday. Which is good, because I went right after the gym today so I wouldn't have to wait in an hour long line and I smelled like complete grundle-gunk.

Pitt, it's at 7pm Oct 1st at the Barnes and Noble in Union Square. Do you live in the city now?

Buy the book and have him sign it and mail it to me, i'll pay for the book + shipping costs.

I'll be seeing him on tour the night before Halloween.

Bit of an old thread but I just saw it.

Not sure if this is still the case, but he used to sell all kinds of signed stuff on his web site for pretty damn cheap. I bought a signed Clerks poster and a signed copy of the first printing of Green Arrow #1 he wrote for I think like 30 bucks shipped back in the day. Have the poster framed and hanging above my TV and the comic stored away.

Not as much fun as having the person sign it for you in person, but still pretty cool. I got my copy of Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way signed by him alone with a picture with him choking my with my tie (went to the signing right after work) that is one of my most prized items. Coolest guy ever.
