    After thinking it through, I think i'll just buy an assload more freeweight for my dumbbells, this sounds too much like a gimmick.

    I'd rather go for the long haul and buy my own stuff, eventually the stuff paying for itself over a gym. my dad lifted so he had a lot of the stuff i needed like a bench, some weight and olympic barbell and bench extensions. plus the gyms here are packed 24/7.

    if you're going to buy the all-in-one dumbell sets at least go with power blocks

    rediculous amount of money. it's size makes it impractical for many applications. db's are about $1/lb, so you could have a pair of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 db's for the same price.

    those wouldn't be good for anything for me. Even butterfly's I've outgrown those.


    buy gym membership. You get a good environment (very important IMO) you get good, updated, maintained equipment, and a wider variety of machines and freeweights
