I heard about a firmware upgrade for the 300D which makes it almost like a 10D. This is my first DSLR as I am selling my Powershot Pro1. So, should I get a 300D and save some money for lenses or get a 10D?

10D ergonomics is better, larger viewfinder, better shutter sound. Mainly, the ergonomics would be the reason to get a 10D.

...and 2nd dial > buttons. If I had the choice, 10d all the way.

Also,The AI servo on the 10D is better than the rebel with the hack. If i remember right, the process to activate Ai servo on the hack was not straight forward.
