GUN Should I get a 24" Armalite Bull Barrel Upper?

    Im not sure. It comes with scope rings too. He said just the upper weighs 12 lbs :eek3:

    Should be accurate as shit, but heavy. I dunno!

    :dunno: unless I was shooting in comp's and stuff I dont think I'de bother with it.

    Ya im not sure. I think that would probably be a bench only rifle. Too damn heavy, the upper weighs more than my 8mm mauser and that is a heavy bitch

    My DPMS 20" upper weighs 8-9 pounds, MOA groups at 100 yards. Barrel length is less significant for accuracy than it is for velocity. Unless you plan on shooting 800+ yards, 16"-20" should be fine.

    Gah. CAR stocks on precision uppers look like garbage. Magpul PRS ftw.

    But I want a target upper too. :hs:

    How far can you shoot with .223 and what kind of accuracy at those ranges?

    i regularly shot 600 yards w/ my Armalite in matches using 82gr handloads.

    my 16" is plenty accurate, I would never see a need for non-competitive use of that length

    i didn't use a scope. it was service rifle class, so we use open sights. but i was just sayin it's definitely possible to do very long distances. furthest i got to shoot w/ my 24" heavy barrel w/ scope was 200.
