Im 19, looking to buy a car (in Canada), dont wanna spend more than $14000 (cnd).

This is gonna be my first car, so I dont need race car,.... I just want something to get me from point A to point B, and I want the car to look sexy.

    Im also thinking about:

    2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse
    1998-2000 celica

I've had a 97 Mustang GT for the past five years (it was my first car) and am planning on getting a 01-03 GT in a year or so. In my experience they're reliable, safe, and fun to drive. RWD with lots of torque = big advantage over the other cars you mentioned IMO.

With proper maintenance and a bit of luck you can get 150k+ miles out of the original engine and tranny in these cars easily. Mine gets a lot of attention and compliments, which I enjoy.

I have no idea how they handle in snow or on icy roads though, which might be an issue for Canadian car buying.

That's the first thing that I thought too.

There are a lot of nice looking cars that will "get you from point A to B" without hurting your asshole so much.

if it's only those 3 cars. get the celica.

i'm basing this solely on fuel mileage (do you guys still use the term mileage since you measure things in kilometers?) and toyota's legendary reliability.

I have heard a lot of trash talk, saying that American cars will break down every month on you, and how my mechanic will rape my wallet if I get a Mustang.

I have a 97 GT also and ya it sucks on icy roads and snow :/ The 5 spd helps alittle, but its still crappy with bad weather. When its hot outside the car really owns in its own way ;] <3 the non pi lol:hsd:

I'm gonna vote for the eclipse, a mustang V6 should not even be considered a car

Why take advice from people you don't even know?

Buy the one that you want.

If you want a car that looks good and has the power of a mustang, get a 93-98 lincoln MARK VIII. Now i KNOW many people consider this a grandpa car, but lemme tell ya, U R WRONG. All Mark VIII's have a MUSTANG COBRA ENGINE stock, in fact the mustang cobra engine came from this car. stock this car has 290 HP, 290 LBS of TQ :bowhs:. The MARK VIII also has an air bag suspension:drool: which lowers itself 1 1/2 inches once you get past 45 mph, automatically. on top of that if u like leather, woodgrain surronding, power everything, in car computer, a ride that is like heaven, an interior to kill for, and loving the luxuries of life. then i would highly recommend this car to any1. I have 1 and i will never own any other car in my life. just

The '98 Mark VIII is rated at 280hp and 285tq but the '98 Cobra was rated at 305hp and 300tq so while the motor may be the same size, they different. The Mark VIII also ran 0-60 in about 7 seconds... vs. 6 seconds for the Cobra.

Sure about that? It was cheaper for me to be on my car than it was a van. :noes:
