I have a half sleeve on one arm and a full back, with plans to get a half sleeve on the other arm in January (it'll have a similar style).

I like the idea of connecting my sleeves to my back but I'm not sure if doing this would disrupt the way my backpiece flows with my body.

What do you guys think? If yes, they should be connected, then should it be through a basic filler or...more vines/plantlike images?

Im thinking no as well. I could see it being done well and looking good, but you would have to get it shaped just right and I am not sure what it would really end up looking like.

Damn, not quite the answers I was looking for. I can see what my artist recommends. What about if I add onto the back but it just happens to touch the border of my half sleeves? Like adding flowers to the gap?

sure but you dont want it to look all clustered up. personally i like the skin as a color break.

it's one thing to do a full back piece and have it interconnect with the sleeves as one image, but if they are two different tattoo's they should stay that way. I really like seeing the skin break up the back and half sleeves, but it's your body and that is just my opinion :dunno:

You think it looks better separated then, hmmm. Well, I'll just do this--I'll wait another year or so and if the skin gaps still bother me after that point, I'll have it connected. If I could care less then it will stay that way.

Maybe I'll change my mind once I get the other half sleeve.

I'm also thinking of adding more to my back but having it spill over onto my ribs.
