I was pleasantly surprised when I handled one of those stocks at the gunshow this weekend. It'd make a nice truck gun for me, but then I'd have to put a folder on it. :o

I think I picked my stock up for like $50 shipped from J&G.

If youre asking about my Norinco, I got it for about $180 otd from my ffl. The original box mag, bayo and upper hand guard were missing though. Came with a 30 rounder but got a yugo fixed off ebay for about $20
When I bought mine, there were 2 others there. One was a shitty norinco with a rotting stock and the other looked Russian to me but the ffl insisited it was Norinco. It was marked with what looked like an Ishvesk marking and the wood was reddish, not to mention fat and round looking
    Was I right?
It was dated 1952 right next to the armory mark on the receiver cover

I like the wood stock better, especially when its in as good a condition as yours. Dont really like the scope though.

Probably, it had the arrow in a star crest? How about a spike bayonet or a squared gas block?

Nah, fuck it. I think some people get too worked up over that "bubba" shit. I'd like to get a para-SKS D and make it a truck gun with one of those stocks. ATI's fit and finish is horrible, but they are pretty comfortable when shooting.

Took all that crap off and put the AK sling back on. Its ALOT lighter. I can actually stand to aim it for a long period of time now. Before, it was a task just to keep aiming it

Now for another question. Should I try and track down a Norinco bayo and upper hand guard and turn it back to stock?

Might as well, looks like handguards are about $5 and bayo's go from $5-10. Or just get the full spare parts kit from CTD for $60.

Is this Norinco or Yugo though? I want a handguard that matches my furniture pretty good

If I ever get a folder, it'll probably be something OTHER than ATI. The folder on my 500 turned me off to their folding shit forever.

I dont like the feel of the old folder for the SKS. I think its ATI, built same as the new stuff, so I doubt Ill ever get a folding sks stock.

Plus that big ugly button looks like it gets in the way a little when aiming

Get a transfer from another state or look even harder

if the button can be seen when aiming, you have a very awkward shooting stance.
