Found a 1Ds mk2 for $2250. I really would like to buy it but my conscience keeps telling me that my 1D mk2n is good enough for what I need.

Talk me out of it before I pull the trigger!

Buy it, the little s will make all the difference to your photography. You will be published instantly and make fistfulls of cash from your work because of it.

That's what I was thinking as well. I mean, why else would the English language have a small "s" and a line thru it as the symbol for money if it didn't mean something?

So, if I buy it, should I raise my wedding rates to $10,000 or is that too low??

Do it old man. I follow you in the buying process, and I need a reason to buy more stuff. Mainly a flash lightmeter, the 85 1.4, and maybe the 135 f2!!! I'm starting to become a shallow DOF whore! :noes:

I posted the 5d2 vs. 1ds2 question a while back. Seems the jury was split. :/

When considering purchasing any photography equipment, you must ask yourself 'What would Jcolman do?' The answer is almost always be 'Yes, buy it.'

The 5d2 is only a few hundred bucks more. Really what's the difference between $2250 and $2600. And doesn't the 5d come with a lens? You can just give me the lens it comes with and you can have a new body AND feel extra good about yourself. Sounds like win win to me.

The 5D doesn't come with a lens at that price. I passed on the 1Ds btw. I'm going to continue using my 1Dn instead.

Probably a good decision. I think with the economy how it is, there will be more and more deals popping up. Just sit back and wait IMO.
