GUN Should I buy Speer Gold Dot in 165 Gr? or 180gr?

    Ammoman is having a sale on these and both are the same price...what are the differences? Could someone walk me through the differences?

    the 165gr tend to penetrate deeper, deliver more energy on target and thus recoil harder as they are a higher velocity than the 180gr.

    Unless you have a problem with the recoil, i favor the 165gr for defensive purposes.

    what length of barrel? If a longer barrel go with a heavier bullet, if your barrel is shorter go with the midweight round. Gold Dots are very good hollowpoints.
