Should i buy all of my RAM direct from dell when i order my laptop or should i get it from somewhere else like newegg.
im thinking about getting the minimum amount of ram from dell then buying my own, is this a good idea?
    thanks

Only get extra RAM from dell if there is a really good deal on it. Otherwise get it from somewhere else. Just remember to make sure you know what type and how many SODIMMs it takes before ordering.

No, they seem to charge outrageous prices...

Get the machine with the base amount of RAM they give you and order extra RAM from crucial.com

just make sure if it's coming with 512 that it's not 2x256, otherwise you lose out when you upgrade.

Dell is nice enough to charge more for a single SODIMM. Thoughtful, aren't they?
