My friend will sell me his 2003 r1 with 1500 miles for 7000. It has a small scratch on exhaust and a crack on front fender thats hard to see other than that it looks perfect, house kept. This would be my first bike so i dont think ill be suicidal and keep it, but i was thinking of turning around and selling the bike for more than i got it for, and using the profit + alittle to buy a used cbr f3, do you think i will be able to sell the r1 easily on like cycle trader and make atlwast 1k profit?

    thanks for reading/advise...:)

Just take the $7k and buy an F2/F3 directly. Let the friend sell the R1 himself.

I agree, let your friend sell his own. You'll have the bike sitting in your garage, tempting you to ride it. That my friend, would be a huge mistake.
