Not sure what model it is, all I know is that it's a 12 gauge, black, and he paid like $250 brand new. He wants $100 for it.

If he paid $250 its probably a 500, $100 is a good price.

I do not care for them.

I would not buy it -- but I already have a very nice Rem870 that I love.

If I didn't have my 870 and I wasn't willing to spend money to do things proper, then I will admit it sounds like a good deal.

$100 for a Mossberg is a no brainer.

How is buying a Mossy at a good deal not doing something proper? Assuming it's in good shape, I'd pick it up as a spare also.

it's a good value for the money. But read my comment... I generally spend a little more and go the proper route -- and that was doing it right with a Rem 870 magnum, 18" barrel, mag-tube extension, stock that holds 6 extra shells, picatinny RAS foregrip, light, etc.

Not sure I'd call all that accessorizing "spending a little more."

I guess I still don't comprehend that logic. Didn't you buy a base 870, and THEN put stuff on it? Isn't that what this guy is doing? Buying a base 500, then can put whatever he wants on it?
