Somebody in my area is selling a yamaha yzf-750R for $1700...that sounds incredibly low to me. I'm gonna call him this weekend and see if I can take it for a test ride. Any advice on what I should look for or what questions I should ask to determine if there's anything seriously wrong with it? Assuming it looks fine and it runs should I buy it or do you think this has to be a scam?

That's what I thought when I saw the ad. The photo looked like it might be an R7, but an R7 should be a lot more expensive unless there's something really wrong with it. I dunno, I'm hoping to go look at it this weekend. I'll be sure to post about it afterwards.

i stand corrected, yamaha did make a fzr750 back in the early 90's, but they are still rare. for comparison i found one on ebay that was up to 13g's.

fzr750? Maybe that's what it is, but the ad listed it as yzf-750R, and not as a fzr. So I dunno.
