    should i buy a speedotron 2401a?

found one with 2 heads on cl for $100, but its in a bit rough shape. one of the heads needs a new bulb and it will need a new power cord for the pack. called the guy, he used to be a stagehand and this one was used for several model shoots for hallmark and worked fine when he put it into his garage a couple years ago.

so, think its a good buy? would i need to plan on replacing the battery in the pack before i could really use it? would it be worth even buying to flip?

and 100$ is way to cheap for this stuff, how old is it? is it going to be reliable? are you likely to get electrocuted?

the answer the electrocuted part is what made me pass. you won't if your careful, but 90% of the shots i take are of my kids and my son gets into and onto EVERYTHING. i just can't take the risk of him hitting himself with 2400ws of power. :o

    good choice!
I have a garage full of old powerpacks + heads that I was going to refurbish, then when I opened them up and found valve rectifier tubes and questionable old capacitors I gave up.
