My wife was hospitalized this last weekend with pelvic inflammatory disease. I've been doing some research, and I found that this is possibly sexually transmitted, although not necessarily. Should this be something I should concern myself with as far as her faithfulness? I don't have any real reason to think she's been unfaithful.

PID is almost always sexually transmitted or caused by STDs.

has she been tested recently or at least after they found out about PID? does she have chlamydia or gonorrhea? If she does and she did not have it before, maybe you should be concerned. But by what I read a person can get from many other ways.

Its extremely rare to catch it without the cause being an STD or because the bacteria is sexually transmitted.

If you both tested clean before, I'd probably be a little concerned, yes.

Some research clearly does not equal a lot and I was only posting the link to the article because Deborah had only used a direct quote from it so i figured that he might want the source. I was just elaborating.

    Relax.

I'm getting myself tested soon. I think that's the only way I will know for sure is determining whether or not I have it.

I've learned that PID is a general term (as per WEBMD) and that there are several causes.

Stop trolling or post something useful. Your posts just clutter this thread with garbage.

Wait until you get tested and get the results. If you are clean....then I think you have a right to talk about it.

i would be worried because chances are you have it as well. if u used a condom that chance decreases. people that are sexually active tend to contract this. sometimes the symptoms are not visible. good luck BTW i work in biotech and im looking at clinical data for a US HPV trial.

. I can personally attest to this as well. I had one that was not STD related. Awful pain!
