honestly I don't know. Right now I'm more of bulking/eating at maintenance than anything. even thought I really don't watch my cal intake, I just eat when I'm hungry and make sure I get enough protein in every meal I eat. I would really hate to dissect my diet, I stick to the basics most of the time.

Right now I'm 6'3" around 260. My last max bench was 295 and squat/dl are around 275 with good form.

My goals right now are just to push heavy weight, I would like to loose fat but really what I want to do right now is push heavy weight. I would like to at least be in the 400+ in the big 3 by the summer and I think I can do it. My bench has been shooting up like crazy ever since I start to eat like a mother fucker.

Here is what I currently look like

would going on a cal deficit do anything to me for what my goals are?

My brother (who also post on this forum) kind of did the opposite. He cut down a lot of fat but is now at a plateau. I want to be pushing heaving weights before I start to cut. But I guess really the question is should I bulk from a low bf% or high bf%?

That is why I get so confused on this forum because there is so much information thrown around.

also, the only supplements that I am currently taking and only think I would like to stick too is ON protein and multi/fish oil/flax oil/calcium/potassium supplements.

    Maybe creatin someday.

The main reason there seems to be so much information thrown around is because there are so many different goals. Now since you said you want to be pushing heavy weights before you cut, then jonno is right. This makes the second part of your question almost irrelevant (at least concerning you).. whether you should bulk from a low bf or high bf.
Maybe consider clean bulking... eating the 'right' foods at any/ large quantity.

Ok this isnt meant to mean but since we are going to be the new f&n Im going to give advice thats serious, on that note

I looked at your pics and honestly you need to diet and diet hard. Your very out of shape and overweight. If you were to strip down to say 10-12% (which is a good off season bf im guessing your would weigh about 200. Please this isnt a flame but if you keep bulking at your current status your gonna get fatter and fatter and unhealthier. You metabolism is pretty much dead now and the heavier you get its gonna be harder to restart and the more work you will have to do. You can lose a ton of fat and still be plenty strong, I actually get stronger when I diet since my body is much more effcient and my mobility is also greater. I dont typically lose strength until 5% and under. I would aim for a goal of 12% BF and then work from there. If you change your eating and get everything in balance you will also add lbm along the way. Once again im just being honest and want you to look, perform and feel your best.

I'm in pretty much exactly the same boat as the thread starter. I've been hovering at just over maintenance for 2 months now giving my body a bit of a break and some energy for doing Chris' routine.

Since I'm doing a routine that fairly taxing on muscles and the CNS, would the advice you gave the tread starter still hold true for me? I assume it would, but I just wanted to double check

I know that all too well, I dropped 120lbs (at my lowest) over 1.5yrs. Looking back now, I managed to do that knowing little to nothing. Now that I have some knowledge, and definitely the motivation, it ain't nuttin but a peanut

so basically what you are telling me I need to cut? I've been going on other peoples advice is to bulk first, then cut. It's not really been a dirty bulk but a clean shot at maintenance.

Cut. PurEvl gave me the same advice, and I have been doing it.. albeit it has been slow (I was misinformed by a stupid online maintenance calculator.. I should be eating ~11-12x my body weight, as should you) but it's been going alright. Once I start up cardio, I'll be at ~210 in no time.
