A balanced meal an hour or so beforehand and simple carbs + protein afterwards?

I found this on bodybuilding.com..
"PRE= pro/carb meal, i had 6 egg whites, 1 pro shake, 2/3 cup of oats and glutamine... 1 hr later i did my cardio
after cardio i woul dhave 2 scoops of whey and 2/3 oats"
If you are trying to lose weight, then no.
Granted you should not be starving yourself either.
