Should GTR be Nissan or Infiniti? With info and photochops

Nissan Motor Co. faces a dilemma: whether to sell the Skyline GTR sports car as a Nissan or an Infiniti when it comes to the United States as a 2008 model. The GTR is known globally as a Nissan, but Infiniti dealers here think they should get the coupe because Nissan dealers have the 350Z sports car. "It's hard to have a car as well known as the GTR sold as a Nissan in Japan and an Infiniti in the U.S.," says Patrick Pelata, executive vice president of business planning for Nissan Motor Co. "Even the Sony PlayStations have a GTR game so you can't play and cheat with that name. We've got to find a solution to that."

Infiniti is going global so its brand will be used in Japan as well. What should Nissan do?

    Edit:
There are no official specs out yet.

But now that Infiniti is going global, it is a brand that will be in Japan as well. Of course the GT-R has always been a Nissan, but Infiniti needs a halo sports car.

It will be sold in 07 as a 08 model :bigthumb:. If they sell it as the Infiniti GT-R in the US, what will they sell it in Japan? Nissan Skyline GT-R or Infiniti GT-R since Infiniti is going global?

It will be that, or Rxx GT-R. Depending on what engine they use, R35, R36, or R45.

I think they will go with the Infiniti badge here. They will undoubtedly want to charge as much as they can for the car, and they can do that easier with Infiniti.

I'm not really concerned with it.

I won't be able to afford one, and every faggot on the black will have one.

I like the older r32,33,34 because they look nice. :dunno:

Infiniti. And price it high enough that it won't fall into the hands of every 16 year old out there. A GTR with a 50-60k price tag under the Infiniti name would have no problems selling, as long as it comes from the factory turbo :)

It's being made to compete with super cars like porsche and ferrari's. I think last time I saw it was +100K.

I don't want to see the 10k mark-up for the car under Infiniti's name.
