I do a lot of rabbit hunting with my Remington Sportsman 58, which has a Modified barrel. It does not have a changable choke tube. This gun works GREAT for rabbit. My question though, is will it be suffecient for turkey hunting? I am going for the 1st time in a month. I was looking at maybe picking up a Mossy 835 w/a full choke. I would rather not spend an extra $300 if I dont have to, but would the one I have be OK? Or would I be better off with a full choke? :dunno:

MOD is pretty open, I use X Full or something like that, as tight as you can get is the best. The 835 is a nice gun, I have one that I have shot like once ever, if you shop around you should be able to find one for about $250 with a turkey tube.

I really like the 935, but its way more than what I want to spend right now.

Ok, I just found a 30" full choke barrel for $175, it seems like it would be better to spend a little more and get the 835.

Mossberg has a 535 now too which is a 3.5" thats little less than an 835. Besides the over-bored barrel I'm not sure what the 835 has on it but they seem pretty similar.

something like this would be ideal
