I was talking to a friend last night (who know nothing about guns at all) and he said that his brother is moving and is selling all his guns. He said his brother has a copy of a mossey 500 that he only wants $50 for. Anyone know who all makes clones of the 500? I know you won't know who makes this particular one. It's just that I have never seen a Mossberg clone before. I would just go look at it but he is 400 miles away my friend is going to go help him pack and would just bring it back if I want it. I almost figure that for $50 I can't go wrong.

Could be a norinco or an armscor. If you need a home defense gun, Itd probably be okay.

    I'd pick it up.
Depending on how close of a clone it is, you could replace any questionable parts with genuine stuff.

    Not so easy.

The gun is metric; genuine parts are inch.

I have an 870 copy that is simply awesome, but, well, some parts won't swap around.

I'd pick it up and leave it as it is. Those copies work fine for general use.

I decide to go ahead and pick it up; he will bring it back with him early this week. So I figure I either got a deal or a $50 bat :hsd:

Never heard of a Mossberg clone. If they don't know anything about guns I'll bet it's a Maverick 88.
