first off, what sling do you guys run on your shotguns (if any)? this summer i'd like to take a shotgun course or two, and one of the things being taught is transitioning to a sidearm.

i am getting the blue force vickers for my AR15, would this work well on a shotgun?

my next question brings us to methods of attachment. i found these online:

for the rear attachment i can get a regular loop style, or an H&K snaphook style (i'm doing the snaphook on my AR15)

    snaphook:

    loop:

for the front, i was thinking something like this:

this method will give me attachment at the rear of the receiver and at the rear of the magazine tube.

any input from people who know more than me/have taken classes/instruct classes? :x: :wavey:

I have a slingsystems sling on my shotty... I have a velcro loop/strap thingy that attaches it to my stock, and I use a paracord loop on the barrel just in front of where the magtube screws on.

I would think in a typical home defense situation a sling would simply get in the way.

Ah got mine -- the type with the velcro'ed portion that goes around the factory stock. Came with front plate like the last pic you showed.

go ahead and buy em... They're not a bad solution. Personally I prefer having them mounted my way because it more easily allows left/right hand switching... Also puts the rear sling mount further towards the butt of the stock... It was also "free".

I use a standard 1.25" sling. Easy to carry in the field when hunting rabbits, and works just fine for SD IMO.
