First of all, you wedding photographers are endurance badasses. The FIRST time I've ever done this. Fun & challenging since there are NO reshoots. :noes: From 8am-5pm, I was with a friend who shoots weddings. I had my DVX & tripod, he has a D300 & D200. He went to go take a piss and knew I've been interested in Nikon. So I shot a few while he was gone. And noticed a few things.

    1. Holy fuck that thing is a tank!
    2. Made my Rebel feel like a cheap, plastic toy. :(
    3. 18-200 :eek5:
    4. Buttons, Buttons everywhere :run: I was scared I'd fuck up a setting.
    5. Nikon ergonomics = badassery!

    +1 Nikon crew :eek3:

    #3 is :hs:

The camera is great, that lens... not so much. Good if you can only take one lens with you, but I only have 2 other lenses and this one rarely gets used.

When I held one, it felt like a tank to me, too. The Digital Rebel series are toys haha I've been thinking I might go over to the dark side, but I'm just used to Canon right now

Imagine how it feels with a grip and a big boy lens like a 70-200 VR! :naughty:

I'm loving the new grip. Already been asked about 3-4 times in a week if I'm a pro :noes:

Its a great walk around lens, but its not a lens for a wedding unless you're doing the whole wedding outside! I just think the lens is a bit expensive for not having a fixed aperture. I had a Sigma 18-200, sold it along with my Sigma 24-70.

    :bigthumb:

It feels foreign in my hands without the grip. I never take it off.

I wouldn't use that lens for a wedding, but if it works for him... :dunno:

As in, it makes me think about switching once again. A.K.A. refreshes the idea in my mind.

Talk for yourself! The 18-200 is the ultimate wedding lens!
    However, I also:
    smoke virgina slims,
    own a hd dvd player,
bought my house with a 5 year ARM,
    eat quiche,
like my women to have hairy toes,
    and I shoot sony. :o
