I was thinking about getting a Taurus Judge Revolver (shoots .45 LC and 410 shot shells). My friend said that shooting shot gun shells (with the exception of slugs) out of it will fuck up the rifling, is that true? :dunno:

i dont think rifling in hand guns does much anyway, at least thats what i have been told. I was just thinking a few days augo that would make a nice camping gun.

Your friend is an idiot, they run shotshells through it in the commercials and show targets in the magazine ads. :hsugh:

I think as long as you don't shoot steel shot it should be fine.

What are you going to be shooting with shotshells? They aren't worth much ballistically from such a short barrel.

I doubt the shot would ever touch the barrel, since the wadding usually does a pretty good job of keeping it from doing that. you patterns will look like crap though.

Not worth much for defence (at least the .410) but should be okay for handgun-skeet shooting. (Ref: theboxoftruth)

Im not going to hunt with it really. I want to use it as a camp/hiking/survival gun. Decently large load for personal protection when using 45LC. Gives me the ability to blast birds and squirles close range if I want/need to using 410.
