I'm not big into handguns, i'm a rifle man, but i got to shoot my first .45 today. I've shot a 9mm before and the recoil was nothing. I've heard everyone say that the .45 has so much recoil. those people are pussies. that shit was nothing. had no problem rapid firing.

the recoil isnt actually that bad. More of a push than snap.

    I've shot 9mm, .40 and .45.

I think the .40 has the worst recoil out of the three. It's real quick and sharp.

    G36 or Para WartHog?

    That is the question.

You should probably shoot a little more before deciding.

There are more important factors in picking a carry gun than caliber.

I think the .40 is the worst also. Sharp and snappy. Shot the .40 out of a 226, and .45's out of a p220, and 1911. .45 wasn't bad at all.

IMO compact .45's suck, take a 1911 for example, its the barrel that gives the good performance, a snubby 1911 is going to be worthless at anything other than a belly gun, granted, practice helps but id rather have the full size, besides its the grip that is hardest to conceal, not the barrel. my full size Kimber hi-cap conceals just fine on my 5'9" 195 lb frame

i didn't like my para tac-4. i couldn't get a proper grip on it because the magwell was do wide my hands couldn't wrap around fully. that and the recoil, which was pretty hefty when shooting the heavier loads, made for a gun i was terrible at shooting and didn't enjoy.

I'm looking for a tiny .45 for concealment use. The warthog hold 10 rounds and the 1911 platform is good.

I wouldnt expect it to be useful beyond 10-15 yards.

    .454 > .44mag in the recoil dept.

In my memory its the hardest kicking gun I have fired :noes:

.40 out of a sig p226 is like nothing. .40 out of a compact polymer like the uspc or p2000 is harsh.

if you are looking for a pocket pistol, just curious why you would need all the ammo capacity?

I like the warthog too but it's a little too fat. The handle is like holding a beer can. I'd try to find one to try out before spending all that cash on one.
