I feel like my SO and his buddies always get the short end of the stick, are constantly shit on.

I have not seen a Holiday/Christmas Standdown since 2003. Every other base, every other boat, is getting a Christmas Standdown. Even the REST of the boat is getting Standdown, except for the Nukes. ALL the Nukes (of course, with the exception of the ROO and RCO, 'cuz they're too important to be forced to stay there  ) must remain on the boat until Christmas Day, "just in case", starting yesterday. They're in fucking Dry Dock and they can't even take a break long enough to give the Nuke Department the same Standdown they're giving the rest of the boat? :ugh:

It's times like these that I dislike the Military. Dont misunderstand, I don't really complain too often. I knew completely what I was getting into when I married my Husband (I was in after all). I know that missing Birthdays, Anniversaries, Holidays and sometimes the birth of your Children, goes with the territory. It's just disappointing to constantly be the one department that gets singled out. They're always the ones getting shit on the most and they put in WAY more hours then the rest of the boat (not just saying that, one of my good friends is on the boat in a completely different department and she's seen it herself).

Would just like to have my Husband home Christmas Morning since he's not deployed :sad2:

    1. pics of you

    2. it sucks, but honestly it's pretty expected that anyone working in the nuclear field is going to be doing shit like this.

 That's rich, considering not a single one of my girlfriends are dealing with anything even close to this. And their Husbands are all Nukes as well. This particular boat is the only one screwing Nukes over like this. :sad2:

I wouldn't be upset about it if 1. the REST of the boat was getting fucked or it happened frequently with other boats and 2. We had family or something in town or I had been able to fly to family. It's only the three of us out here.

Oh, my bad, I assumed it was a thing across the board for anyone involved in nukes. Obviously the sensitivity and confidentiality of all that shit would warrant being made to stay over.

    Where the pics? :o

Yeah, no. One of my friends was in Dry Dock last year and her Husband had Christmas Standdown. I've talked to everyone I know about it and not a single one of them ever remembers NOT getting a Holiday/Christmas Standdown unless deployed. It's complete BS, IMO and it has NOTHING to do with confidentiality. They aren't DOING anything, that's just it. The CO wants them there "just in case" :ugh2:

:rofl:This is our Second Captain with this boat (soon to be Third, this one is also leaving). Third CMC. FOURTH ROO/RCO. Yeah, shit doesn't seem to change with this boat. It was worse last Dry Dock, but they didn't pull this shit over the Holidays. They just kept the Nukes there every weekend all weekend for three months straight. I didn't see my Husband much then.

yea i had 2 bad COs in a row like that, bad luck...they arent all bad though

what sucks is when you have a bad one turning over to a bad one, they will pass on all they do to them to continue...have to get a good one to say fuck that to break the cycle i guess lol

I have no idea, TBH, we thought this one was good, he seemed like such an improvement (the CO). The ROO, our fourth now, have all been retarded as fuck. It's ridiculous. This particular boat is just plagued with issues. They don't do Evals properly, they don't let the guys get the Quals they need/want and then bitch when it takes them longer then is standard to get a Qual done when THEY were the ones holding it up in the first place.

The SO has been Senior in Rate and qualified for Senior Supervisory Pay starting back in June and because he has to do a "Qual Card" to get it now, he STILL isn't receiving it because the people that need to sign off on the card keep telling him they don't have "time to do it now" so it keeps getting pushed back because it's not important enough to them. And let's not talk about how they keep fucking him over for his Reenlistment  Yeah, that was supposed to happen in June, it's now mid-December and guess who still hasn't reenlisted?

The only saving grace is that one of the guys became a Chief in August and we are friends with his LPO :hsd: Otherwise, I think my SO would go insane. Worst command in the Navy, right here.

:dunno: He was supposed to have Duty on Christmas Day but just informed me he got Leave starting Christmas Day and doesn't go back until Duty on New Years Eve. Honestly, if he had Duty on Christmas, it wouldn't bother me, we'd just do Christmas on Christmas Eve instead. It's just the fact that it's going to be PAST Christmas more or less until I see him again and he gets to come home when there's absolutely NO point in his being stuck there and NO REASON they can't have a Holiday Standdown. None.

Actually, that wasn't anything to do with the Nukes on Carriers. None from this boat cheated :dunno: That was all Sub guys which is retarded because Sub guys get promoted like WOAH.

Trying to rub it in? How does this help me?

Yeah, I dislike females like that. They give the rest of us who actually worked and took our orders (for the most part) without complaint. You go in, you know damn well you're gonna get deployed. Don't go using your ability to get knocked up as an excuse not to go.

Well, this will be the first Christmas we haven't been together on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in 7 years. I should count myself lucky, but it stinks because this will probably be the first Christmas our daughter actually REMEMBERS.

 No, really, it's been called the Worst Command by the Pacific Fleet Admiarl  YEAH! ROCK ON! We got the keys to the Reactor taken away last Shipyard....awesome times! :ugh2:

Actually, from talking to my friends and some of the guys that got out, we have it a LOT worse then we should. The SO tells them stuff and they're just floored. I try and keep my nose out of this shit until it starts affecting the home life. Like not having a Holiday Standdown. Everyone else gets it, but us? Gee, THANKS CAPTAIN HALL! YOU'RE AWESOME!

I feel his pain is what i meant...sounds like a bad command in general but theres always hope for a transfer! Like youre saying, when i tell people about how things worked on the LKE their jaws drop. Chain of command making things standard that should get them busted down basically...when i transfered to the seabees it was like night and day different. I loved it there...tell him to find a way to get xfered out of there!
