Shooting to be the 3rd turbo LS1 in the 9's

  1. I am working my ass off to get my car done before October 25th's M8 track event in Stanton, Michigan. If everything goes togather as planned I should be close to the single digits and become only the 3rd LSx forced induction car in the 9's.

    Car is a 2001 hardtop Z28
    Trans: TH400 w/brake & 3400 converter
    Rear-end: Moser 12-bolt 3.42 gears
    Motor: A.R.E. iron block / Detroit Speedworks
    FI: Incon twin turbos @15 lbs
    Tune: Detroit Speedworks
    Suspension: BMR

    The car is still a long way from being done and I do not want to rush it, if I do not get it finished in time for M8, I will aim for the Thunder Shootout in November.

    I can't wait to see how well that combo runs. Hope you get it ready for M8.

  11. No way it is going to be ready for M8 :(
    I decided to go to a LARGE center mount intercooler and also.....bigger turbos. With the 35s I would be maxxing them out at around 15 lbs, I want more. The motor is getting changed up a little too. I'll post more when I figure it out. I may just decide to sell the complete Incon TT kit and start a custom kit.

    For now: Do the motor, trans, suspension, rollcage....etc. Then Turbo kit. These projects never end. :slap:

    Watch for Rob's new set-up but if Harlan's gets a clean run, he should have the #1 turbo spot.

  16. Good luck, but it aint gonna happen. Jonathan Boss (one of rob's employees and a personal friend of mine) almost has his set up all together and it'll be knocking on the door of 9s with a stock 6.0 truck motor. He just installed his TH400 tranny last night :cool:

    Saw your engine at DSI. You gonna re-ring it and put in new bearings? That's prolly all it needs. All good stuff in there.

    if he is using a stock 6.0 truck motor, how is going to be the third turbo LS1 in the 9's? maybe i'm just an idiot and missing something.

    thats what i thought about...but is Rob's motor still considered an LS1 since it's a 40x something cubic inch?
