So i got a last minute call, telling me i had they messed up and i needed to rush and shoot a poker tournament at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. I was like "ummmm ok" never shot one of those before. But ill wing it. Took with me a 14-24, 50 1.8, and 70-200, d700 and sb900

It was really interesting, some weird people play poker. Made a contacts and leads on people wanting to purchase the photos, etc... Not to mention a bunch of tips :wiggle: So hopefully i get to make even more cash from this.

Well here they are, nothing really stands out, i tried to remember angles that i had scene in Magazines of the WSOP and camera angles on ESPN.

    They all look good :dunno:

Last time I was in Vegas, we walked into a casino and I randomly started to take photos of the people on the final table........and one of the guys' wives came up to me and asked if she could buy some of the photos from me lol, she gave me like $50 or something of the sorts and I emailed her all the photos lol

bounce flash with stock nikon diffuser on camera. no bracket, no frilles just lots of ambient balancing, with full CTO gel and tungsten wb setting, and Adjust flash exposure to taste.

Nice! The ceiling is all black too. What was the exif like? I want to get a feel for how long you kept your shutter open for ambient and what f stop you used for your flash exposure. (I can see a pretty good distance away with the ambient, hence why I ask).

    1/30-1/50 f2.8 iso1600 mostly.

The CTO gel helped match my flash color to the ambient light that was in the room, they were standard ball room tungsten bulbs. Then by changing my WB to tungsten it helped the camera compensate for the warm light and balance the images out correctly, so that i wouldnt have to fix anything in post

Next time maybe you could keep an ear open for someone who just went all-in, then capture the anguish on his face when he looses his whole stack. The pics are great, but everyone is either chillin or contemplating.
