Canuk noob here (never actually seen a gun before.) Plan on going to a range to shoot a little for fun. Is this possible/legal? Do I need to take a safety course or something first before they'll let me shoot in case i blow my hand off or something?

Call up your local sporting goods store (where they sell guns, etc) ask them about Firearms courses. You'll have to take a short class, then write a test (for non-restricted). If you want to get your license for pistols right away. ask the instructor about the non-restricted course right away, if you apply for both licenses at the same time it's cheaper. How old are you?

Do i need to do all of that just to shoot a gun? I don't plan on owning a gun (yet.) Just thinking of borrowing something at the range to see how it is. I'm 21+ btw.

I think that if you're there with a restricted firearms license holder, you should be okay....I'm sure somebody there will help you out as far as what to do & what NOT to do. Most of the guys I've talked to in pistol clubs are quite helpful.
