someone at work brought a bunch of watermelons and was giving them out for free. at my shooting range they let you shoot 2L coke bottles of frozen water. do you think anyone would say anything if I froze the water melon and took it there and shot it? is this dangerous?

I imagine a plastic bottle is much easier to pick up than hundreds of watermelon shards but if its an outdoor range they might be ok with it. I'd still ask instead of risking being kicked out.

I have. It's not rare around here, but definitely not very common.
I give them mad props, for taking up their constutional rights, and doing it the right way.

And they usually agree as well.

Dangerous? Probably not. The reason people bring in the 2L bottles is they tend to stay in 1-2 pieces. Unless there's a bunch of black people nearby to rush downrange to grab the pieces as if it were a giant watermelon-filled pinata, you're going to be out there for a while cleaning up.
