Well, this is going to be interesting

I have Machida in my MMA pool, but I hope Shogun wins just so he gets the title shot

Going to be interesting to see what the Sportsbook odds are on this fight. I just might have to wager a bit on Machida if he is a big enough underdog

I wonder if Machida will be able to stall against the aggressive Rua like the rest of his fights

    should be a good fight

I dont think he stalls as much as he fights just at the level nessecary to win. I think we are going ot find out alot about him by this fight

I guess so, in the same way that some wrestlers just lay in people's guard

he does try to find the rhythm and openings but it was horribly tedious in the Heath fight

:werd: He weighed in at 199 in his last fight. But I think he and Anderson are associated some how (I think I remeber them using the same translator)

this is a great fight for MMA fans...but honestly i dont know why the UFC would make this kind of match...UFC people don't really know either of these guys

also both these guys have so many similarities..i don't really know who will win...i've never seen machida in any kind of trouble at all...but i guess i'll go with Shogun since he is more proven

Both are people that they can push if this is a good fight. Shogun with his established past and Machida wit hhis wins over big UFC names like Bonner, PEnn, and Franlkin

I am ready to finally see Shogun put his elbows to use. I have watched some of his seminar and training videos, and they are fucking viscious

machida is damn evasive, and is good at lateral movement. he's not as engaging as shogun, and in the octagon it'll be harder to pin him against the cage

Damn this matchup sucks :( I hate that one of these guys is going to have to lose!

I feel like Shogun could be a bad matchup for Machida. But Machinda is still a bit of an enigma.

Very very interested to see this fight! Not sure who I'll be backing or cheering for. One to sit back and enjoy the fireworks I hope.

I'd rather see Shogun maul a more established UFC fighter such as Tito. That would put him over HUGE and make a Rampage/Shogun II for the UFC title a HUGE $$ ppv....

Damn, im definitely lookin forward to this fight. We really don't know all that much about Machida and this should be a reaaallyyy tough test. I think Machida has a ton of potential, hes one of those fighters that thinks alot while hes fighting. Hes constantly looking for openings/vulnerabilities, switching up his stances/style, and always looking out for/avoiding danger. Not to mention hes really fuckin fast. But Shogun actually has alot of those same qualities. Theyre both guys who keep their eyes on their opponent and have really effective striking. You wont see alot of wild swings from them.

I dont even know who I want to win but I hope its a really close war either way. Like SCirone said, if theres any sort of underdog odds for Machida id probably bet on him.
