I got one-for some reason it didnt come with instructions.
I google'd " shock doctor mouth guard fitting instructions"

And i found 2 articles and they are both identical EXCEPT one thing-
One site says put the mouthguard in the boiling water for 90 seconds-

Fill a saucepan with water and bringing it to a boil. Drop the mouthguard in the boiling water for 90 seconds (do not exceed 90 seconds). Tongue tag should be facing down in water. Remove the mouthguard from the saucepan with a slotted spoon and run it under cool tap water for 1 second only to cool the surface temperature.

    the other for 10 seconds..

    2. Remove water from heat source. Immediately place mouthguard in water for 12 seconds (10 seconds if you wear braces). Do not exceed insertion time.

wtf? I dont want to cook my mouthguard, i know a few of you guys have shock doctors- so some help would be nice. And WTF no instructions.

    boil it for 90 seconds

stick it in your facehole and suck hard on it for a min

put it in cold water for a min

as far as i can tell the times don't have to be precise

Yeah, I just run it under cool water for a few seconds, it cools down quick to mold in your mouth.

Bring water to boil. Add salt to taste. Cook for 10 minutes, or an additional minute for more tender mouthpiece.

    It can be.

There is a dentist who rolls at my gym. He makes them for us for about $100 a pop. :o

that one has been by far my favorite boil and bite mouthguard. it's the least unobtrusive and it rests on your bottom teeth. the only thing is it says right on the packaging that it's specifically for helmeted sports :mamoru:

meh. i don't think you need $100 mouthguard for BJJ. it's overkill.

    MMA/MT, probably

I like to be able to open my mouth and have the mouthguard stay in place. Shock doctor was a piece of garbage. I would always have trouble with it and it would always move out of place. Custom one is much much much better.

Put it in until its kinda soft really suck it up onto your gums.

If it comes out of your mouth when you open your mouth you did it wrong.

i've never had a custom one, but i've never had any issues with boil and bites either. :dunno: the only reason i go through so many is because i always lose them or they just eventually gross me out
